  • Assists with the implementation of site specific work zone safety procedures
  • Assists climbers and crew leaders working on the ground and aloft
  • Ability to perform strenuous manual labor and work in all weather conditions and seasons
  • Safely operates and maintains chippers, chainsaws, mowers, and all other equipment
  • Assists with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties
  • Learns and demonstrates high safety standards, sound tree risk assessment skills, equipment inspection skills, proper pruning and rigging skills, and implementation of tree felling procedures
  • Responsible for carrying out other duties as assigned by the Arboretum Maintenance Supervisor, Arboretum Curator, or other designated supervisor

  • Interest in working outdoors year round performing manual labor in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license and clean MVR
  • Prior tree care, landscaping, forestry, or horticulture experience is preferred but not required
