Job Description
Cogent Biosciences is growing! This position would be an integral part of our newly formed research team in Boulder, CO. This Senior/ Principal Scientist will be responsible for the management, design, and execution of cell-based assays to support target validation and project advancements in close collaboration with other Discovery Biology team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of oncogenic pathways and in vitro assays to interrogate them, as well as previous experience with small molecule drug development programs. The candidate will use this experience and knowledge in the field to provide strategic input to target identification and validation strategies. This individual will both conduct and oversee cell biology activities, and work with a multi-disciplinary team with the common goal of bringing forward innovative cancer therapies.

What You Will Do:
- Lead efforts in identifying and validating potential therapeutic candidates
- Provide a high level of biology expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature and mentorship of colleagues
- Lead and execute in vitro cell based experiments to characterize and validate novel targets
- Continue advancement of drug development efforts through discovery and clinical programs
- Proactively investigate new and innovative technologies to improve target validation and advance discovery projects
- Collaborate with a cross-functional and interactive team
- Organize and manage experiments and data coming from external CROs
