Assistant Professor, Microbiology
Position Summary
The Department of Basic and Clinical Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (www.acphs.edu) is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track assistant professor in microbiology to commence in the Fall of 2021. The primary teaching responsibilities will include courses required by the BS microbiology degree program (e.g. cell biology, mycology and parasitology) and laboratory sections accompanying our undergraduate microbiology course. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a research program that, at a minimum, is able to support undergraduate capstone projects.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an PhD in microbiology, immunology, or equivalent experience in a similar field. A demonstrated ability to perform independent research in a relevant field is also expected.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have a documented interest in teaching at the undergraduate level that includes prior independent teaching experience.
