POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The EHS Safety Coordinator will be responsible for executing all site health and safety programs at Herbalife Innovation & Manufacturing (HIM) in Winston-Salem, NC. This individual will provide leadership, coordination and technical expertise in all areas of environmental, health and safety compliance to achieve excellence. This position will work with all areas in the facility to ensure safe working conditions and interact with team members and management to continually reinforce safe work practices, pointing out both issues and encouraging positive behavior.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Maintains compliance with local, state and federal agencies for EHS
Provides, coordinates all required Safety Training as directed
Preforms ongoing or potential hazardous/risk and site safety analysis
Assists in evaluations and improving safe work practices and conditions
Work with any third-party agencies on Risk Assessments
Chair monthly Safety Committee Meetings on the 3rd shift
Conducts with assistance, regular safety analysis inspections
Assist in any medical situations resulting from injury or illness
Conducts Ergonomic Assessments as requested or required
Maintains the Near Miss program for respective shift
Preforms and administers all Accident/Incident Reports
Conducts or assists in all Accident/Incident Investigations
Coordinates and assists in Post-Accident/Incident drug screening as required
Implements corrective actions when resolutions are determined
Issues and documents Safety Violations as required
Assists in maintaining the Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
Conducts and coordinates Evacuation & Shelter-In-Place events
Confirms daily Forklift inspections per shift are completed and documented
Facilitates the Forklift training and Train-The-Trainer programs for respective shift
Confirms machine guarding and limit switches are in place and functioning properly
Maintains and instructs the proper handling of chemicals
Ensures that company EHS policies/procedure & SOPs are followed
Assists management to include, but not limited to, the formulation and documentation of EHS related policies, procedures, forms and SOPs
Oversee Hearing Conversation Program and provide annual testing as needed and/or required
Assists in audits required by FDA, EPA, OSHA, Fire Marshall, ISO and Risk Lost Prevention
Conducts monthly checks of all safety equipment confirming operational as requested
Confirms First Aid Kits are stocked monthly and nothing is out of date as requested
Maintains ongoing facility Risk Assessments spreadsheets are up to date
Assists with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as requested.
Support Management to ensure policies, procedures, training programs, etc. are conducted as required and advises and serves line management in developing, evaluating and improving safe work practices on conditions throughout the site
Participate in company site and department audits and prepares technical reports as required to satisfy both regulatory and corporate requirements
Work with the local agencies such as OSHA, EPA, etc. ensure that all safety, health and environmental requirements are complied with from a site perspective
