Job Overview:
We are seeking talented Science Majors in the fields of Biology, Animal Science, Zoology Animal Behavior, Veterinary Technology, and Dairy Science, Equine Science and similar majors to work as a Study Technician in our Madison, WI location. *We are offering a sign on bonus of $1000 upon hire and another $1000 after 6 months. (Sign-on bonus is only available to candidates with an accepted offer that includes a start date prior to May 1, 2021).*
In this position you'll be able to apply your experience and knowledge with small and large animals, research studies and laboratory experience to improve health, improve lives and bring new medicines to market.
Hourly Rate: $18.00
Job Responsibilities Include:
+ Perform daily care of small and large animals including watching for signs of stress or illness, assist with administration of medications, blood collections and care of animals in compliance with the Animal Welfare Act
+ Collection, documentation, and management of pertinent data from animal observations, test material administration, and sample collection
+ Performs basic measurements e.g., body weight, food consumption, body temp, behavioral, blood pressure, glucometer, urine, feces
+ Extensive training is provided; candidates need to be comfortable working with both small and large animals in a laboratory setting.
+ Maintaining the facilities in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AALAC)

Education/Qualifications:
+ Bachelor degree in Life Sciences
+ Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology, Veterinary Technology, or in Histology (along with 6 months to 2 years of related experience)
Experience:
+ No experience is required with a Bachelor Degree
