Amazon is focused on protecting the health and safety of our employees while continuing to serve people who need our services more than ever. Regular testing on a global scale across all industries would both help keep people safe and help get the economy back up and running. But, for this to work, we as a society would need vastly more testing capacity than is currently available. Unfortunately, today we live in a world of scarcity where COVID-19 testing is heavily rationed. Until we have an effective vaccine available in billions of doses, high-volume testing capacity would be of great help, but getting that done will take collective action by NGOs, companies, and governments.

They should have a deep understanding of underlying molecular processes and biochemical components within PCR or Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) assays, and be someone capable of diving deep into the data (requires in-depth understanding of the lab processes, for example to do root cause analysis of experimental outcome based on the data), and someone who can work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
* Work with project leads and team of scientists to build or improve existing molecular assay
* Contribute significant intellectual input into the design of experiments, employ advanced and economical methods to build towards the final product.
* Carefully execute laboratory experiments and provide guidance to team of scientists through clear standard operating protocols.
* Supports assay design and assay development by critically analyzing and deriving insights from experimental data
* Works with team of scientist and bioinformatics to communicate experiments and conclusion for review
* Follows literature in the field

* Advanced degree, usually at the PhD or post-doc level with focus in molecular biology
* Broad and detailed hands-on experience with molecular tools development including PCR, qPCR, and NGS
* Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate interactions with team of scientists and interdisciplinary team.
* Comfortable reading and analyzing literature
