WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Scientist/Geologist for our Duluth, MN office. Duties and Responsibilities: - Conducting Environmental Screening and Project Site Reviews - Preparing Site Maps using ArcMap and GIS Technologies - Communications with regulatory agencies - Developing and preparing environmental permit applications - Coordinating the Environmental Review process and being a project team lead - Support field inspections by coordinating field activities and schedules with property/facility owner/operators in a clear, professional manner. - Assist construction contractors through ensuring compliance with BMPs and regulatory permit conditions and conducting environmentally sensitive resources training when applicable. - Perform storm water and pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) inspections. - Collecting field data using GPS units and provide GIS mapping for site plan development. - Generate documentation and reports of field data and observations in a clear and organized manner. - Develop knowledge of standard field sampling procedures for various environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air). WSP understands this position requires a broad range of specialized skills. WSP will provide additional training as necessary to develop other skills to successfully complete the work, which may include wetland delineation certifications. Job Requirements

> Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related discipline with 1 to 3 years of experience. Candidates with Master of Science degree in environmental sciences also will be considered. - Ability to analyze and solve problems independently, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. - Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with clients and management. - Ability to work as a team member with people of differing backgrounds and experience - Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures - Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications: - Former employment demonstrating relevant work experience - Familiarity with ARCGIS software/applications and word processing and use of spreadsheets - Familiarity with Wetland regulatory requirements and wetland delineations - Certifications desired: OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training, DOT Training, CPR and First Aid Training, and other related environmental certifications. - Previous experience with Construction stormwater management plans and achieving site stabilization. - Technical writing skills and attention to detail, accuracy and completeness. - Ability to adapt, problem solve, and respond to changing project environmental conditions About WSP USA WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
