Collins Companies, Pallette Stone Corporation is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our QC/QA Team at our Saratoga Springs, NY location for a full-time position as an Environmental Compliance Specialist.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintains and adheres to the organization's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP)
- Analyze and implement state, federal and local requirements as necessary to maintain the organization's SWPPP
- Collect water samples from storm runoff for analysis, preserving samples with appropriate containers and preservation methods
- Maintains and adheres to the organization's Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS) program
- Assist and maintain the organization's Air Quality Permits
- Regularly report to management concerning the organization's compliance with laws and regulations
- Conduct audits to identify potential opportunities and non-compliance situations
- Implement realistic plans to overcome any non-compliance situations
- Communicate with other employees to ensure awareness for how to comply with internal policies and external laws and regulations
- Prepare, organize and maintain inspection records
- Monitor follow-up actions where violations are identified and review compliance monitoring reports
- Evaluate label information for accuracy and conformance to regulatory requirements
- Participate in the development of spill prevention programs
- Proactively learn regulatory requirements
- Assist as needed in all laboratory areas (calibrations, graduations, data entry, etc.)
Essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation):
- Perform a variety of tasks that will include having to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods of time, stretch, walk, climb and bend under potentially adverse field conditions and be able to perform visual tasks such as back up spotting and hear and react to back up alarms, per safety protocol
Qualifications:
- Previous work experience in environmental compliance
- Working knowledge of state and federal environmental compliance requirements pertaining to mining, water and air quality
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology or related field is preferred
- Prior experience in a mining industry is preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
- Must be able to work outdoors and in all types of weather conditions
- Basic computer skills
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Solution-oriented
- Must be willing to travel to other sites in the region when required
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary to meet business demands
- Must possess a valid NYS driver's license with record acceptable to the company's insurance standards
- Must be able to pass a drug screen (Drug Free Employer)
Compensation:
