Job Title: Wetland Scientist
Job Status: Part Time as needed
Location: East Coast
Stell is a seasoned veteran- and woman-owned small business providing expertise and innovation across the resilience, environmental, restoration, and compliance service sectors.
Position Overview:
Provide technical leadership and direction in performing wetlands identification and delineation studies.
Responsibilities:
Lead teams on wetland delineation & natural resource field studies
Complete environmental permitting (USACE 404, state wetlands, 401 WQ, Coastal Zone) for a variety of private and public projects
Complete threatened and endangered species surveys; wetlands vegetation assessments; rapid value assessments; native plant identification; and invasive species identification
Ensure technical quality and safety in all aspects of job performance
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in biology, botany, environmental studies, fisheries, soil science, wildlife, agriculture, or related field.
Society of Wetlands Scientists' WPIT or PWS preferred.
County/City wetland rating systems (where appropriate).
Minimum four years of related work experience and training.
Excellent organizational, oral, written, and analytical skills.
Knowledge and skills inuse of GIS/GPS technologies.
Project related travel and ability to work 10 to 12-hour days in the field are required.
