WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

As an Environmental & Safety Manager, youll ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with all existing environmental related federal, state, local, park, and SEA operating policies and procedures. You will:

* Consult with departments on various safety and environmental topics to ensure guest, employee, and animal safety and compliance

* Manage and implement corporate and regulatory programs

* Oversee all day-to-day safety and environmental operations; to include employee training, equipment management and procedural compliance

* Analyze safety trends, conduct hazard assessments, monitor sampling activities and re-mediation of hazardous materials

* Communicate with corporate and other SEA parks to ensure best practices and standards are followed

* Inspect all product and support facilities to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws/codes

* Audit written programs, field tasks/activities, training/drills to ensure compliance. Implement and follow up on corrective action as needed

* Oversee employee accident investigations and implementation of the corrective action plan

* Oversee EHS Supervisors and Specialists

* Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests

* Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

* Bachelor's Degree OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education that is comparable in knowledge, skills and abilities

* 5 years experience in environmental and/or safety related fields. (Education may be substituted for 2 years work experience.)

* Ability to communicate with all levels of Ambassadors utilizing excellent verbal and written skills

* Ability to recognize basic safe practice applications in multiple departments and interpret laws/regulations as applicable to safety compliance and park operations

* Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs

* Possession of a valid state driver's license and ability to obtain a company driver's license

WHAT ELSE IS IMPORTANT:

* Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

* Must be comfortable working around heights, chemicals, fumes, dust, and odors

* Must be able to train on and properly use protective gear

* Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and temperature extremes

* Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include opening, mid, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays
