Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking a talented and highly motivated Structural Biologist to join the Biomolecular Sciences group. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team responsible for biochemical and biophysical characterization and screening of novel small molecule degraders. The successful candidate will be responsible for Establish protocols to characterize target proteins for small molecule/protein binding. Perform protein crystallography, crystal quality optimization, data collection, structure determination. In charge of organizing and maintaining internal protein structure deposit for the projects in support of Monte Rosas pipeline of oncology targets. The candidate should exhibit excellent communication and collaborative skills for working on cross-functional multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams.

Principal duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will be an integral member of project teams and will be expected to perform structure analysis and design the best structural biology strategy.

Design constructs for protein expression, participate trouble shoot for protein production

Establish protocols to characterize target proteins for small molecule/protein binding.

Perform protein crystallography, including initial screening, crystal quality optimization, data collection, structure determination. In charge of organizing and maintaining internal protein structure deposit for the projects.

Provide detailed structure analysis in regular team updates and willing to participate in facilitating structure-guided drug design effort.

Requirements

PhD in structural biology or 1-2 years of relevant postdoctoral experience in structural biology with a strong publication track record showing innovation and scientific excellence.

In-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on-experience with protein crystallography and structure determination, using both molecular replacement and de novo phasing techniques, and refinement.

Demonstrated competencies in genes-to-structure, different expression systems, and protein purification. Experience with multi-protein complexes and structure-guided drug discovery is a plus.

Extensive experience in crystallization techniques, co-crystallization, seeding, cross-seeding, soaking, harvesting and freezing.

Extensive experience with crystallography software, including data processing, visualization and deposition.

Experience with automated instrumentation for liquid handling and crystallization.

Flexibility to accommodate rapidly changing priorities and deadlines

Additional desired qualifications: knowledge of drug discover, Experience in biophysics, specifically with DSF, MST, SPR and ITC. Experience with cryo-EM is a plus.
