We are currently seeking a DART Development Reproductive Scientist/Toxicologist . This position located in West Jefferson, OH .
JOB SUMMARY
The DART Development Reproductive Scientist/Toxicologist will exhibit ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness in the application and/or development of significantly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. The scientist frequently acts independently to expose and resolve problems associated with the development and implementation of programs. This position plans R&D programs and advocates technological application programs to achieve long-range objectives and serves as consultant to management in long-range planning pertaining to new or projected areas of technological advancements. An emphasis is placed on high quality technical and business/planning activities.
Principal responsibilities are to:
- Assist leadership in a well-defined technical or scientific area that is in the current or projected mainstream of activity.
- Plans and lead complex and advanced technical projects and oversee staff in technical interpretation of complex data.
- Prepares, reviews and/or approves complex reports
- Assist in leading proposal preparation efforts
- Identify technologies with sustainable market impact and advise Market Sector Leaders in setting the strategic direction for the commercialization of technology.
- Actively engage in outstanding technical activities in an area of specialization.
- Maintain and develop professional reputation.
- Contribute substantively to planning and executing marketing and project development activities in specialized area. Routinely conceive and develop new projects.
- Train, mentor and lead other staff.
- Provide competent technical advice to management.
- Assist management to develop facilities required to support a specialized technical area.
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
- PhD with 1+years OR Master's with 4+ years of DART related experience including but not limited to the following:
- Pre and post natal developmental toxicity studies
- Neonatal and juvenile toxicity studies
- Embryo-fetal developmental toxicity studies in rodents
- One generation and multigeneration reproductive toxicology studies
- Male and female fertility studies and early embryonic development studies
- Developmental neurotoxicity studies
- Neurobehavioral testing in juvenile and adult animals
- Experienced in managing complex multi-year programs; or experience in serving in a key role on multiyear program
- Ability and willingness to serve in cross functional roles as needed ensure business continuity.
- Ability and willingness to market Battelle capabilities.
- Must be willing to work in a biosafety level 2 (BSL2) environment and able to wear appropriate respiratory protection.
- Must be willing to be immunized with licensed and FDA approved vaccines and medications recommended for persons at risk to occupational exposure of biological agents.
- Must be willing to participate in periodic drug screening.
Additional requirements may be requested at a future date:
- Ability to obtain/maintain certification in Chemical Personnel Reliability Program and/or Biological Personnel Reliability Program.
- Ability to obtain/maintain DoJ Security Risk Assessment (SRA) approval.
- Ability to obtain/maintain CDC Select Agent Program approval.
