Join Cardnos Science and Environment team as a Project Manager/Wetland Scientist in Glendale or Santa Barbara, CA to lead one of four project elements for a technically and geographically diverse team. The successful candidate will have the overall responsibility to develop additional work under our existing MSA and position Cardno for upcoming opportunities.

Job Description:

Cardno is looking for a Project Manager/Wetland Scientist to support a high volume environmental services program for a large utility client. We are looking for an accountable person who can lead multiple concurrent work efforts. You will oversee delivery of consulting services and client deliverables, develop improvements to workflow, coordinate with the team including Program Manager, task leads, and our clients and directing multiple tasks and subprograms.

Responsibilities:

> Provide technical review of project documents, feedback and mentoring to junior staff.

> Engagement in the process and willingness to identify process improvements to provide added value to our client.

> Lead regular team meetings to ensure efficient delivery of services.

> Review workload needs to evaluate and adjust staffing needs to meet client goals.

> Provide expertise in environmental business development within CA with a focus on Southern California.

> Lead technical proposals for clients.

> Lead proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and looking for quotes from subcontractors/suppliers.

> Manage and delegate tasks to Cardno staff and subcontractors.

Basic requirements:

> Minimum Bachelors degree in environmental studies, biology, or related science.

> Ten or more years of environmental consulting experience.

> Knowledge of the USACE 404 permit process, and experience leading multiple aquatic resource delineations and corresponding permitting with the USACE, RWQCB, and CDFW..

> Working knowledge of State (CA) and Federal regulations and experience linear projects environmental permitting.

> Client satisfaction track record.

> Demonstrated commitment to safety.

> Contribute and lead multiple concurrent work efforts.

> Process and evaluate large volumes of information.

> Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.

> Understand contract administration and office procedures.

> Coordinate with a team composed of Cardno and subcontractor staff to maintain efficiencies.

> Analyze technical studies, financial reports, and legal documents.

> Manage project teams.

> Willingness to travel and work in multiple field conditions within California.

> Must be physically fit and able to navigate rugged conditions on foot (day and night work may be necessary).

> Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship.

> Obtain clearance through client background check to access online system (upon employment).

> Comply with all Cardno and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use.
