Join Cardnos Science and Environment team as a Project Manager/Biologist in Glendale, CA to lead one of four project elements for a technically and geographically diverse team. The successful candidate will have the overall responsibility to develop additional work under our existing MSA and position Cardno for upcoming opportunities.

Job Description:

Cardno is currently seeking a Project Manager/Biologist to support a high volume environmental services program for a large utility client. The successful candidate will oversee delivery of consulting services and client deliverables, develop improvements to workflow, coordinate with the Program Manager, and direct various tasks and subprograms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Provide technical review of project documents, feedback and mentoring to junior staff.
> Engagement in the process and willingness to identify process improvements to provide added value to our client.
> Lead regular team meetings to ensure efficient delivery of services.

> Review workload needs to evaluate and adjust staffing needs as necessary to meet client goals.

> Provide expertise in environmental business development within CA with a focus on the greater LA Basin.
> Lead technical proposals for public and private clients.
> Lead and/or participate in proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers.
> Supervise and delegate tasks to Cardno staff and/or subcontractors.

Basic requirements:

> Minimum Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, biology, or related science.

> Four (4) to seven (7) years of environmental consulting experience. Eight (8) to ten (10) years preferred.
> Working knowledge of State (CA) and Federal regulations and experience linear projects environmental permitting.
> Strong client satisfaction track record.
> Demonstrated commitment to safety.
> Strong organizational skills and ability to contribute and lead multiple concurrent work efforts.
> Ability to process, organize, and evaluate large volumes of information.
> Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgement.
> Ability to adapt the team and organization in a changing/dynamic environment.
> Possess an outgoing personality to network with Cardno and subcontractor staff.
> Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
> Possess an understanding of contract administration and office procedures.
> Ability to coordinate with a team composed of Cardno and subcontractor staff to maintain efficiencies and meet deadlines.
> Ability to analyze and interpret technical studies, financial reports, and legal documents.
> Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
> Ability to lead and manage project teams in a fast-paced environment.
> Strong proficiency in Excel, MS word, and ability to learn and use various Cardno and client systems.
> Strong quantitative analysis skills.
> Self-motivated; resilient initiative.
> Solid time management and follow-through skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on and manage multiple tasks/projects with demanding deadlines.
> Willingness to travel and work in a variety of field conditions within California.
> Preferred experience conducing water permitting (404, 401, SAA) and leading/overseeing jurisdictional delineations.

> Must be physically fit and able to navigate rugged conditions on foot (day and night work may be necessary).

> Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship.

> Obtain clearance through client background check to access online system (upon employment).
> Comply with all Cardno and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use.
