Description
Dowhas an opening for aMicrobiologistlocated inAuburn, MI.This role works across the region to provide analytical solutions, method development and validation, implementation of Most Effective Technology (MET) and improvements to micro lab productivity for manufacturing plant/product support and Quality Control Lab technical services. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, techniques and methodology within the analytical technology discipline.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Ensure the US microbiological lab is efficiently run and meets all safety and quality system requirements
- Microbiology focal point and SME for US, LAA and EU
- Support Tech Center and R&D product transfers and product development
- Support Root cause Investigations and non-routine testing
- Provide product lab support as needed, including daily testing, scheduling coordination, supply ordering and other tasks to maintain a functioning lab.
- Provides the analytical technology link from the Analytical Technology Center to manufacturing and Quality Control Labs.
- Performs complex analyses and interprets and reports analytical data.
- Provides expertise for troubleshooting and repairing analytical instruments.
- Monitors and improves analytical system and lab management system performance and capability.
- Develops, validates, and supports analytical methods.
- Keeps current with emerging analytical technologies and evaluates their potential for application.
- Applies established analytical technologies to meet business needs.
- Documents analytical methods and validations, technology evaluations, and innovations.
- Provides input on analytical equipment capital plans.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or molecular biology chemistry
- A minimum of 3 years of microbiology lab experience
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

- Ability to communicate across multiple functions
- GMP knowledge
- Statistical experience
- Prior experience leading projects
