What you'll do!
- Manage daily continuous laboratory operations for Cell & Gene Therapy R&D BSL2 biology and engineering prototyping/testing labs through oversight of equipment maintenance and operational support, materials management, organization, continuous improvements, lab procedure management, and (EH&S) program compliance.
- Build/test instruments, and analytical instruments for continuous operations within operations budget including initial troubleshooting and driving resolution plans.
- Coordination of metrology activities with facilities and internal service team guided by metrology program schedule and changing R&D project needs.
- Includes secondary responder under facilities direction to coordinate off hours equipment out of tolerance alarm resolution plans.
- Collaborate with R&D teams, sourcing, and accounts payable for vendor account and requisition follow through.
- Lead lab improvement and modification project plans through management of change processes driving lab operations and improvements.
- Strong coordination and communications through multi-disciplinary team planning with facilities, EH&S, R&D management, engineers, scientists, and project managers.
- Maintain labs/lab staff compliance to (EH&S) programs, which includes internal lab inspections, external audit readiness, BSL2 biosafety blood-borne pathogen program compliance utilizing human blood/cells and viral vector gene transduction.
- Chemical and hazardous material program compliance with chemical inventory and procedure compliance and management of biohazardous and chemical waste procedures.
- Provide additional support to R&D teams for: daily activities for biology instrument preparations, QC testing, reagent preparations, and waste management in BSL2 environment.
- Engineering prototype building support; equipment/consumable shipment coordination between global R&D sites and vendors.
Who you are!
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant technical/scientific field with preference for biology or engineering.
- 3+ years working in cell biology and/or engineering labs with BSL2 biosafety level and good chemical hygiene practices.
- Proven track record to handle projects through plan development, coordination, and communications for multi-disciplinary team interactions to meet budget and priorities.
- 2-3 years confirmed experience in laboratory management, technical operations, materials procurement, or inventory management.
- Strong English written and verbal communication.
- Proven solid understanding of MS Office programs and comfort with learning new software applications relevant to laboratory or inventory organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous working experience with immune cells and general molecular biology techniques.
- Prior working experience in a cGMP facility
