Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is looking for a Safety/Environmental Director for their Branch One location in Carthage, MO. Responsible for all aspects of safety and environmental compliance, the Director must work very closely with the Branch One Leadership Team, Corporate Safety and Environmental Departments.
Primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Qualified candidates should possess superior written and verbal communication skills, have a strong background in OSHA compliance and EPA requirements and be able to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all department and management teams. A Bachelor's degree and minimum of one year experience preferred. This position may require occasional overtime and travel.

Primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Ensure plant's overall compliance with governmental regulations, insurance company requirements and corporate guidelines. Coordinate information for branch management and corporate safety staff.
- Identify and stop further processing of non-conformances related to products, processes, or the quality systems.
- Take action to prevent non-conformities related to the product produced, services provided or the LP9000 management system.
- Make suggestions for improvement and verify the implementation of solutions.
- Know the location of and understand control plans, work instructions and specifications.
- Develop, maintain and execute safety training programs for new and existing employees.
- Oversee the filing and follow-up on all workers' compensation claims.
- Conduct environmental testing and reporting.
- Work with Corporate Environmental Department in maintaining records and maintaining compliance with EPA regulated issues.
- Annual travel to other plants to conduct plant safety and environmental surveys.
- Attendance to all scheduled inventories.
