Company EOC is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team. This role may be based out of one of the following locations Raleigh-NC, Plymouth Meeting-PA, Vienna-VA, Tampa-FL, or Orlando-FL. The Senior Environmental Scientist will act as a Deputy Project Manager / Project Manager and subject matter expert for NEPA and related environmental planning projects. They will require the preparation of resource areas and provide peer review for sections prepared by other planners. They will also work closely with clients and market new projects. They may also be asked to mentor junior environmental planners. This position will support our various EIS / EA projects. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, the following
Planning and directing medium-to-large size environmental planning projects, facilities / land management, DoD training operations, and other programs as identified
Preparing/planning/analyzing/reviewing technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents
Accomplishing work independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams from local and regional offices
Supporting regional or national projects in specific areas of technical expertise
Being closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination
Taking responsibility for project management, including developing and managing budgets, schedules, and quality of products
Serving as Project Manager on larger projects as needed, though project management is not sole focus of position
Performing other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in environmental science/engineering or related field
Minimum of 10 years of experience in complex environmental planning/compliance projects
Demonstrated knowledge of the NEPA process
Experience managing large, complex EIS documents for large facility, land management, or other infrastructure projects
Technical expertise in the design, implementation, interpretation and presentation of data for environmental studies and investigations in specialized discipline
Proficient with MS Office
Must have the ability to work on individual assignments and in a virtual team environment
Must be a self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
Must have strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Staff management experience beneficial

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related field preferred
Experience in NEPA for military projects will be given greater consideration
