Environmental Laboratory Technician
Louisville, KY
Full-Time, Day-Shift Opportunity
Kelly Science & Clinical is interviewing and hiring immediately for an Environmental Lab Tech in Louisville, KY! This position will be responsible for high volume environmental sample preparation for analysis. This is a great fit for someone with some college-level science course experience and an eagerness to learn/grow within a fast-paced, team environment and leader within the life science, food, and environmental industries. All training would be provided for exceptional candidates!
Responsibilities
- Following established SOP's, Laboratory Technicians support laboratory staff through the execution of various laboratory duties, resulting in the timely and accurate reporting of data
- Prepare environmental test samples for analysis
- Sample receipt, login, storage and disposal
- Prepare necessary standards, solutions, media, etc., that are required for sample analyses
- Perform basic equipment and instrumentation set up and operation
- Execute routine laboratory maintenance efforts, such as glassware cleaning and sterilization, and ensuring the laboratory is well maintained
- Accurately maintain laboratory logs and records
- Monitor and stock laboratory supplies
- Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized LIMS
- Comply with and promote Personnel, Safety, and Quality Program
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- General knowledge of laboratory processes and procedures
- General understanding of basic laboratory terminology and concepts
- Ability to work with small vials, test tubes and delicate laboratory equipment
- Ability to read and apply established protocols and SOP's to daily objectives
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) semesters of college level science coursework with laboratory exposure
- Familiarity with pertinent scientific terminology as it relates to laboratory sciences
