The Center for Drug Discovery (CDD) is a multi-disciplinary center comprised of chemists and pharmacologists who work together to discover new therapeutics in a non-profit setting. CDD is seeking a Pharmacologist/Biologist to conduct in vitro experiments to support its drug discovery efforts. The ideal candidate will have expertise in high throughput screening (HTS) in pharma, biotech, CRO or academic setting.
In this role, you will routinely perform multiple types of quantitative pharmacological assays to support research projects and contracts.

Responsibilities:
Use automated liquid handling equipment to run HTS campaigns and replicate compound libraries.
Run in vitro cell based experiments to determine pharmacological profile of compounds.
Culture mammalian cell lines for use in the laboratory.
Perform radioligand binding experiments in cell and tissue membranes.
Develop assays and methods as needed to support projects.
Manage databases to support SAR development.
Occasionally assist with in vivo studies in rodents.
Assist with preparation of reports, manuscripts, funding applications and other documents.
This position is located at our headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.
Qualifications:
Bachelors level degree in pharmacology, toxicology, biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, physiology, chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of related experience
Master's degree in pharmacology, toxicology, biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science, physiology, chemistry, or a related field with 2+ years of related experience in biology, pharmacology, or a related field.
Experience with cell-based experiments in a plate format such as 96- or 384-well assays.
Experience with automated liquid handling equipment and HTS.
Experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
Independent, self-motivated, and flexible in adapting skills according to evolving project priorities on multiple projects.
Possess strong and effective writing, presentation, communication, organizational, and planning skills with attention to detail.
Excellent knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Prism, and Outlook.
Preferred:
Experience working with rodents a plus.
Some knowledge of medicinal chemistry also a plus.
