AECOM has a position available in California for an Environmental Compliance Scientist to be located in the San Francisco Bay area. Initially this may be a remote worker situation with the likelihood of returning to an office setting later this year or early 2022; thereafter, regular office attendance will be likely. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career path to Project Management.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Manage Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Labor Human Rights (LHR) assessments of manufacturing sites for global supply chain assurance program
  • Track progress and escalate issues to client management as needed through all phases of assessments (kick off, pre-assessment data gathering, site assessment, corrective actions and closure)
  • Provide strategic advice to client business partners on environmental, safety and labor risks and opportunities within the supply chain

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree is highly desired
  • 6+ years of recent, relevant experience is preferred
  • EHS Auditing and/or environmental permitting experience preferred
  • Some client facing and project management experience is a plus
