Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate I or Research Associate -II to join an exciting initiative to develop gene editing approaches for the treatment of serious diseases. The successful candidate will join the Cellular Biology team within our Editing Technologies group, focusing on cell line engineering for the development of novel gene-editing technologies to support our in vivo and ex vivo therapeutic programs. The successful candidate will be integral to advancing our gene editing platform for CRISPR Therapeutics' cell and gene therapy programs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cell culture of adherent and suspension cell lines to support cell line engineering
  • Engineer mammalian cells by introducing plasmid DNA, mRNA, gRNA and Cas9 RNP by appropriate methods, including cationic lipid-based transfection and electroporation
  • Perform standard molecular biology techniques including DNA extraction, RNA extraction, and PCR
  • Apply basic biochemical and immunological techniques, including protein extraction, protein gel electrophoresis, conventional and capillary western blotting, ELISA, and flow cytometry
  • Maintain detailed records and tracking of engineered cell line production and inventory
  • Communicate research and development findings with internal and external partners by written reports and oral presentations
  • Work under the direction of a Research Scientist and across other platform technology and therapeutic groups to achieve desired goals

Additional Responsibilities for Research Associate II
  • Perform routine molecular biology techniques using the engineered cell lines to support development of new next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays for sequence determination, editing efficiency analysis, and off-target assessment
