Senior Scientist, Chemical Biology and Proteomics/ Waltham, MA (full-time/ Mon-Fri / 40 hrs/week) Design and deliver on projects with the highest scientific standards, utilizing quantitative proteomics-based methods such as global and targeted proteomics and chemoproteomics pull-downs to address specific biological questions. Work collaboratively with scientists to contribute to experimental design and mechanistic hypotheses generation through the interpretation of complex proteomics data. Conduct analytical experiments, quantitative proteomics sample preparation (TMT, SILAC, label-free quantification, protein PTM) and analyze proteomics data using various software (including Proteome Discoverer, MaxQuant, Mascot). Maintain LC-MS platform to highest performance and sensitivity (including Q Exactive, Orbitrap Fusion Lumos, Exploris, and Eclipse, Agilent 1200 series, Dionex 3000). Develop and implement proteomics strategy workflow to investigate mechanistic of small molecule protein degraders and protein degradation biology. Must possess scientific reputation as evidenced by a proven track record of publications and conference presentations, as well as the ability to manage external collaborations. Will serve as point of contact for therapeutic area projects, actively engaging with other disciplines on the project team to identify areas of impact for mass spectrometry-based proteomics; ability to leverage different disciplines towards a common goal of supporting a project progression. Mentorship of junior scientists, interns, and rotation students.

Requirements: Doctor of Philosophy degree or foreign equivalent in Chemical Biology, Proteomics or Biotechnology plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or a related position. Must have six (6) years of experience with all of the following: Affinity and activity-based chemical proteomics including probe design and evaluation, pulldown experiments, data analysis and bottom-up proteomics; Operating Thermo Orbitrap MS instruments including method development, maintenance, troubleshooting and cleaning of instrument; Quantitative proteomics including label-free and isotopic labeling techniques, sample preparation from cells and tissues, multi-dimensional separation techniques for protein and proteome-wide analysis, protein/ protein complex immunoaffinity enrichment and PTM analysis; MS-based data processing and analysis including MaxQuant, MASCOT, Proteome Discoverer, Progenesis and Scaffold; Designing and executing comprehensive experiments for cellular signaling pathway interrogation, hypothesis testing and suitable biological models; Bottom-up mass spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics to understand the effect of small molecules in disease-relevant biological systems, including degradation selectivity and mechanism of small molecule protein degraders; Analyzing context of disease biology and identifying opportunities to apply proteomics-based methods to drive biological understanding; and Utilizing Orbitrap mass spectrometers including QE+ and Lumos in proteomic sample preparation and MS quantification methods including SILAC, TMT, iTRAQ. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field of study plus ten (10) years of experience or a Bachelor's degree plus twelve (12) years of progressively responsible experience.
