Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Lead all aspects of the execution and implementation of environmental programs globally for Corning - supporting approximately 100 manufacturing sites in 34 countries. Includes oversight and management of environmental staff (approximately 8 people across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific regions).
  • Deep technical expertise in environmental regulations, compliance assurance, auditing, mergers/acquisitions and divestitures. Expertise includes, but is not limited to air, water, waste, dangerous goods and remediation matters.
  • Oversee implementation of various environmental sustainability programs, including the implementation of air, water and waste goals, and facility environmental management systems (ISO 14001 systems).
  • Manage and/or supporting multiple new and facility expansion projects with regards to environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Collaborate with federal, national, state and local government agencies, domestic and international, relating to environmental matters.
  • Architect in the development and driving of environmental policies and engagement across the organization, in concert with the functions described above.


Travel Requirements:
  • We estimate travel at 25% - 50%, domestic and international.


Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • BS or MS in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience and 10+ years of manufacturing and consulting experience
  • PE License Preferred


Required Skills:
  • Deep environmental experience within Industry, consulting, or equivalent
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Strong environmental technical skills associated with environmental matters (air, water, waste, remediation and dangerous goods)
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively


Desired Skills:
  • Certified Black Belt
  • Experience with risk and statistical analysis
  • Ability to communicate across diverse communities (senior leadership, workforce, educational, regulatory, commercial, etc.)
  • Ability to motivate others toward a desired vision, drive change and long-lasting enthusiasm
