WSP is currently initiating a search for an Environmental Scientist/Geologist for our Arvada, CO office. Compensation and Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career. Expected salary: $52,900 - $95,100 WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law. Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with environmental site investigation and remediation projects - Collect soil, groundwater, indoor air, and waste samples - Evaluate and interpret data - Assist with preparing project plans and technical reports - Provide general environmental compliance support to clients, as needed - Prepare site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) - Implement safe work practices in the field in accordance with the HASP - Represent WSP to client's and subcontractors in a professional manner Offering motivated individuals with the right talent is the essence of meeting our client's objectives, goals, and challenges. Job Requirements
> Experience Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, studies, or other science discipline or engineering discipline. - 1-3 years of work experience in environmental sciences or related fields - Familiarity with Oil and Gas regulations in CO or TX - Basic knowledge, or ability to learn, state and federal environmental regulatory programs - Able to analyze and solve problems independently - Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with co-workers, clients and subcontractors - Able to work both independently and as a member of a project team - Able to oversee and work with subcontractors (e.g., drillers, construction workers, surveyors, etc.) while performing field work - Frequent travel and/or field work (valid driver's license required) - Able to work overtime (as needed) in both office and field - Competence in Microsoft Word™, Microsoft Excel™, and Adobe Acrobat Professional™ Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of Federal environmental laws and regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, and EPCRA - Experience conducting phase I environmental site assessments following ASTM International Standard E 1527-13. - 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training About WSP USA WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
