The Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering at Cameron University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in August 2021. The Department has 11 full time faculty members and offers programs leading to BS degrees in Chemistry (including ACS Certified) and Physics, and an AAS in Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching specific chemistry courses to include General Chemistry I and II with labs, Fundamentals of Analytical Chemistry, Quantitative Chemistry, and Instrumental Methods of Analysis along with other general education courses (including online). Analytical instruments include: two IR spectrometers, benchtop multinuclear NMR, benchtop X-ray diffractometer, DSC, TGA, AA, GC-Mass spectrometer and more. Many of the instruments are less than five years old. Responsibilities for the tenure-track position also include accomplishing scholarly activity such as undergraduate research and service work.

SUPERVISION:

The position will report to the chairperson of the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PhD in Chemistry specializing in analytical chemistry from a regionally accredited university, and prior undergraduate teaching experience. For appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, the Ph.D. must be completed and recorded on the transcript before August 2021.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants with demonstrated excellence in teaching chemistry at the undergraduate level will receive preference.

Commensurate with education and experience.
