We recruit top talent and are currently seeking one (1) Staff Scientist to join our team in New Albany, Indiana (greater Louisville, Kentucky area).
The individual will perform field and office work associated with environmental and hazardous material assessments. Qualified candidates shall be able to conduct the following activities:
Knowledge of stream and wetland regulatory requirements and field evaluation procedures a plus. Candidate should be licensed or able to become licensed as an Ohio Asbestos Hazard Evaluation Specialist and Kentucky Asbestos Inspector. This individual will be expected to maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, regulatory requirements by attending environmental or natural resources training courses, or other in-house training. This position will require some travel and overnight stays.
Qualifications:
This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference Check program. - Soil and groundwater sampling
- Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- UST removal and closure
- Hazardous materials assessment (asbestos, lead, etc.)
- Soil gas and ambient air sampling
- Data entry and report writing

Qualifications:
- BS in environmental science, biology, geology, chemistry or related field;
- 2-5 years field experience in related field;
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions;
- Ability and willingness to accommodate overnight and out-of-town assignments;
- Good technical writing, verbal communication, and computer skills.
