How will you make an impact?
Perform release testing to support sterile product manufacturing. Job function includes aseptic technique, thorough understanding of the Pharmacopeias, and Regulatory requirement for Product manufacturing and Release testing. Typical hours for this role is 7a-7p on a 2-2-3 rotation.
What will you do?
- Develop and execute laboratory work schedules independently, using customer milestones and division/site performance standards and metrics.
- Carry out analyses that include automated methods utilizing prescribed test methods and techniques.
- Perform a variety of microbiological and bioanalytical testing; including Bacterial Endotoxin Testing, sub-visible / visible Particulate Matter, membrane filtration, TOC and conductivity to support release of product and making quality decisions.
- Perform review of testing data through peer and supervisory review process which includes overall documentation practices, calculation confirmation, and validity and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain instruments and equipment through preventive maintenance measures and trouble shoot minor instrumentation issues.
- Interact effectively with teams across departments and functions to increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings and improve quality.
- Investigate laboratory incidents, out of specifications, out of tolerance and suspect laboratory results.
- Collect, review, and analyze laboratory data trends in support of product review and quality decisions.
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree in biology preferred. An Associate degree is minimally required and with this degree, industry experience will be considered.
- 0-2 years of experience in a Pharmaceutical Microbiology laboratory
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Adaptable and capable of working within a team as well as independently
- Knowledge and understanding of the scientific approach to microbiological methods development and validation.
- Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative microbiological Tests.
- Awareness of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to write standard operating procedures and method validation reports
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to different testing designs
