Job Description:
- Internship will include exposure to Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) incident investigations, machine guarding assessments, safety risk assessments/Job safety analyses, EHS metric collection and reporting, sustainability project development and implementation, hazardous waste site compliance, safety working group involvement, ergonomic (office and industrial) assessments, EHS documentation reviews and more.
- Supports mitigation of environmental risks, including compliance with air permits, construction permits, solid and hazardous wastes, wastewater operations, release notifications and all environmental reporting requirements
- Participates and supports the development, implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Health and Safety Management System that conforms to internal and external standards and requirements
- Participates in review of operations/facilities projects that involve proposed modification of any existing process, equipment or material as well as proposed introduction of any new process, equipment or material to ensure compliance with all general environmental and safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program in either of the following fields (or similar): Environmental Health and Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Systems Safety, Human Factors
- GPA of 3.0 or greater required.
Preferred Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety subjects
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent and effective written/verbal communication and organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, maintain flexibility, and work independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products at an advanced level
