The Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia (UVA) seeks a postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to computational research on ocean biogeochemistry using data analysis, remote sensing, and numerical modeling techniques. The candidate will work directly with Prof. Scott Doney in the Department of Environmental Sciences.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The completion of a Ph.D. in oceanography or related field is required by appointment start date. Candidates required to have experience in data analysis, visualization and/or numerical modeling of environmental data. Background in physical, biological, or chemical oceanography is preferred. Ability to use advanced statistical data analysis software such as Matlab, R or SciPy, verbal and written communication abilities, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a member of a team, and ability to organize and complete tasks are required skills.
