Based on EXPANSION in our Greenfield Indiana location we have multiple positions for Research Assistant (Study Technician) In-Life department. In this position you'll be working hands on with small or large animals researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development research studies. Extensive training provided!
Duties include but not limited to;
+ Learns how to determine and document clinical observations, including charting of physiological data and animal health status such as body weight, food consumption, body temp, behavior, blood pressure, blood sugar, urine, feces and other data on the appropriate data collection system
+ Will perform basic dosing techniques and restraint procedures.
+ Will maintains animal rooms and equipment in compliance with GLP and AAALAC requirements.
+ Learns commonly used clinical sampling techniques. Learns how to process and package biological samples for shipment to client.
+ Ensures that studies are conducted according to protocol, standard operating procedure documents, and government regulations
+ Perform daily care of small and large animals including watching for signs of stress or illness,
+ May perform various bleeding techniques (associated with assigned species),
+ Starting pay rate $16.00 with .50 increase at 6 months, higher pay rates for candidates with 1 or more years of small or large animal research experience or similiar skills
+ Day shift hours, ability to work weekends as needed, typically every 3rd weekend

A motivated hardworking and positive work ethic
Comfortable working in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals

Associates Degree or 2+ years of college courses in Animal Science, Biology, Wildlife Studies, Biotechnology, Animal Behavior, Agriculture, Zoology, Microbiology, Immunology, Dairy Science
Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Nursing graduates encouraged to apply!
Bachelor degree in Animal Science, Biology, Microbiology, Wildlife Studies, Equine Studies, Zoology, Animal Behavior, or related Life Science degrees
HS Diploma and extensive experience in animal breeding or large farm animal care or veterinary assistant
Experience:
Stable work history
Hands on experience doing researcher work helpful but not required
Prior experience working with animal research models helpful but not required
