The Novina Lab in the Department of Cancer Immunology and Virology is looking for an ambitious Research Fellow to lead a project investigating the biology, dysregulation, and development of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) for therapy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly-collaborative and entrepreneurial team of clinicians and scientists.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana Farber brings together world renowned clinicians, innovative researchers and dedicated professionals, allies in the common mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. Combining extremely talented people with the best technologies in a genuinely positive environment, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all ages; we conduct research that advances treatment; we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers; we reach out to underserved members of our community; and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

Requirements

The Novina Lab has developed a high-throughput platform technology that discovers RNA function by systematically identifying the proteins that bind to an RNA of interest. These RNA-protein complexes can be novel targets for therapy. The Novina lab is seeking motivated candidates to study the role(s) of non-coding RNA functions and how these candidates can be targeted for therapy. Currently the Novina Lab has programs on non-coding RNA candidates in cancer, bone marrow failure syndromes, immune-related diseases, and obesity.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD in molecular biology, immunology or related discipline with a strong expertise in RNA biology and biochemistry and a desire to model the translational potential of RNAs using advanced technologies. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in one or more of the disease areas listed above. Please submit a CV and Cover Letter.
