The Sr. Research Tech will facilitate and conduct field and laboratory research under the necessary supervision of Assistant Professor in Biology. He or she will also manage a laboratory composed of undergraduate and graduate students. Research projects focus on nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems. Research tasks will include the collection of plant materials, soil, and water samples throughout the Northeastern U.S., the analysis of their chemical content, and database management. To achieve these goals, the Research Technician will use equipment including a gas chromatograph, a carbon-nitrogen auto-analyzer, an inorganic nutrient auto-analyzer (lachat), and an isotope ratio mass spectrometer.

NOTE: The ability to travel throughout the northeast on a regular basis throughout the year is necessary. Ability to work independently in the lab and the field are required.
