Carbon Project Development Lead (open to remote)

JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Carbon Project Development Lead will partner collaboratively with internal teams, carbon registries and external experts to develop nature-based carbon projects and ensure alignment with relevant methodologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Conduct project feasibility assessments and coordinate the development of new projects through the entire project lifecycle.
• Design and implement scalable measurement, reporting and verification processes and lead new protocol development efforts.
• Ensure tools and processes are designed and implemented with a customer centric approach, minimizing cost and administrative burden while maintaining scientific rigor and project credibility.
• Provide subject matter expertise to facilitate the creation and management of project documentation including project design, verification and monitoring reports.
• Ensure project compliance with relevant protocols and coordinate third party verification.
• Partner collaboratively with internal businesses, sales and research and development teams to apply scientific and detailed technical requirements of protocols in a practical and commercial manner.
• Provide expert thought leadership and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, agriculture, soil sciences or other relevant field
• Excellent technical writing ability
• Minimum of six years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience across the full project development lifecycle from conducting project feasibility assessments through verification and monitoring
- Experience with nature-based carbon reduction projects such as agriculture or forestry
- Experience with various soil-organic-carbon measurement and modeling approaches
- Understanding of agricultural soil organic carbon dynamics
