For this position, we are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented candidate with strong background in cellular immunology and molecular biology. As an Associate Scientist, you will be running established protocols as well as developing new assays to validate therapeutic targets and support drug discovery programs. As a team member, you will work in close collaboration with colleagues from different functions to build and expand our innovative and life-changing therapies for patients with autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of experience in Biology, Immunology or a related scientific discipline.
Strong understanding of cellular and molecular biology techniques and flexibility to adopt new technologies.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Design and execute cellular and immunological assays with primary human and animal cells.
Hands-on experience in isolation, culture, and characterization of primary immune cells from human or animal tissues is required.
Ability to perform molecular biology and biochemical assays including DNA/RNA preparation, RT-PCR, protein isolation, multiplex ELISA/MSD, and Western blot.
Familiarity with flow cytometry is a plus.
Excellent experimental design and data analysis skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality, consistent data in a timely manner.
Ability to identify scientific and technical problems and work on potential solutions.
Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
Flexible, focused, enthusiastic, and highly motivated.
Technical Responsibilities:
Primary cell isolation from whole blood and tissues.
Design, validate and execute primary cell-based assays and co-culture system assays.
Design and execute cytokine detection experiments using multiplex assay technologies.
Design, validate and execute complex biochemical assays, including RNA/DNA isolation, real-time PCR, protein isolation and immunoblotting.
Independently analyze and interpret data, ability to present data to peers when needed.
