This Senior Scientist will be a key member of drug discovery and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform in vitro and in vivo assay development and validation
- Design and execute/conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to facilitate drug discovery and development in various disease areas
- Participate in new target identification and validation
- Present research findings to project teams and governance bodies and prepare study reports
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab and perform critical experiments
- May mentor/supervise a team of associates and guide the performance of those individuals; is accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals
- Co-lead or coordinate the activities of a multi-functional drug development team and is responsible for the milestone achievement of the drug development program
Requirements:
- PhD degree in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or pharmacology with at least 3 years of experience in academia or pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- A successful track record in drug development or academic research
- Excellent understanding of physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology
- Demonstrated record in innovation, creativity and resilience in problem solving
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Expertise in ocular diseases is preferred
