Scientist I/II, Vaccine Technology & Molecular Biology Based in the Oakland Area, this is a direct-hire, newly created opportunity for a Scientist I or II with molecular biology, viral vector development, and/or viral vector characterization experience excited about personalized medicine for cancer therapies.

What You Will Be Doing - Assess current company viral vectors
- Analyze new options for optimized performance of viral vectors to overcome anti-vector immunity
- Develop new vaccine antigen specific assays
- Transfer vaccines and assays to manufacturing and analytical groups
- Develop adenovirus viral vectors using molecular cloning techniques like PCR, qPCR, and RT-qPCR
- Conduct and optimize viral neutralization and viral characterization assays
- Potentially design in vivo experiments for our animal group to conduct
- Potentially use assays like flow cytometry and western blot to analyze protein expression
What You Need for this Position EDUCATION:
- BS/BA, MS/MA, or PhD with relevant experience, preferably industry-based
- Scientist-level experience leading to the ability to perform requirements independently

- Molecular biology background
- Foundation knowledge of viral vectors or virology, ideally within the context of vaccine development, gene therapy or infectious diseases.
- Ability to generate and analyze viral vectors through cloning, PCR, qPCR, and/or RT-qPCR

- Chimpanzee Adenovirus and adenoviral vectors
- Flow cytometry, western blot, and other assays
- Tech transfer experience
