We are currently recruiting for a:

Health Safety & Environment Manager

The HSE Manager serves as a key member of the Canadian HSE Team in aligning and implementing Thermon's HSE program (policies, procedures and processes) as well as industry best practices for the Company. The HSE Manager will provide HSE expertise to Thermon's Construction Services group based in Edmonton and will have additional responsibility to provide assistance to Thermon's Manufacturing and Temporary Power Solutions groups in Edmonton and Fort McMurray

In this role, you will make an impact in our company by
  • Build and maintain credible relationships with first-level, mid-level and executive leaders in the organization through trust, consistency, collaboration, effective communication and results.
  • Implement and administer HSE practices and processes, including policies that align with Company goals to drive the business.
  • Advocate and drive for the resolution of HSE issues and concerns including internal investigations, corrective actions and coaching.
  • Champion and model our core values, engraining them into the culture and the psyche of the organization.
  • Independently provides full service HSE support for Thermon's operations in Edmonton and Fort McMurray.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of COR certified HSE program.
  • Assist with the development and review of Job Hazard / Risk Assessments, Safe Work Practices and Procedures
  • Maintain all Company safety certifications and training and all applicable documentation and records.
  • Evaluation and management of sub-contractors.
  • Involved in the claims management challenges with the WCB and helping managers and supervisors in the safe and early return to work of injured employees.
  • Management of online compliance sites such as ISNetworld, Avetta, Complyworks, etc.
  • Visit customer/project sites to ensure compliance to Provincial and Thermon requirement.

What you must have
  • Undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline
  • 5 years of direct working experience in administration of Health and Safety Programs
  • Up to date in Alberta Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledgeable in other provincial Health and Safety regulations an asset
  • Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) program
  • Verbal and written fluency in English
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with internal staff, office visitors, clients and vendors
  • Strong computer proficiency, with emphasis on MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is mandatory
  • Ability to travel to customer/project sites and Thermon facilities (Alberta)


Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum dependent on experience
