Roush is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team. The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the EHS program. In this role you will maintain compliance among all employees to EHS standards, as well as ensure company adherence to applicable local, state, and federal regulations. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

Responsibilities
  • Build compliance among workers and visitors with Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, and Roush company policy across multiple company properties, buildings, and sites
  • Work with the Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHSS) Manager to develop and update policies and training programs to provide a safe workplace for all employees and ensure compliance
  • Utilize knowledge of OSHA, MIOSHA, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations as they apply to Roush
  • Assist with waste disposal and release, including general trash, recycling, special hazardous, and non-hazardous waste (may include testing and documentation)
  • Aid and guide the Safety Committee and Building Safety Representatives. Ensure Safety Scorecard inspections are submitted.
  • Assist with annual inspections of automatic fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, portable fire extinguishers, and other related systems
  • Perform and document Job Hazard Analyses and make remedial recommendations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Occupational, Health and Safety or related or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of experience working in Environment Health and Safety (EHS)
  • Familiar with agencies and organizations, including OSHA, MIOSHA, EGLE, DOT, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA), Stormwater Pollution Prevention Act (SWPPP), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and possess knowledge of, or ability to reference, applicable regulations
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills and able to manage multiple assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Able to safely handle and work near industrial chemicals such as petroleum products, flammable materials, solvents, and cleaning agents

Preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting
  • OSHA card gained through 10-hour or 30-hour training
  • Industrial Stormwater Certified Operator
  • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Management Training
  • Class A Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator
  • Title V Operating Permit
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Hazardous Material Training
  • MIOSHA Consultation, Education and Training (CET) certificates
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
