About the role

We have a great opportunity for a Scientist II in the Biology R&D team focusing on establishing and developing novel and innovative gene editing and gene modulation technologies as part of our core platforms. Successful candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment, be well organized and able to work on multiple projects, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design research plans and execute experiments towards development of innovative solutions and additions to the Horizon Discovery product and service portfolio.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data and present results to the team and across different departments in a clear and effective way.
  • Document experimental plans and results in accordance with product development and company's quality management system guidelines.
  • Collaborate and provide information to marketing and other functional teams as needed for successful product launches.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or related field (PhD, MSc with at least 2 years or BS with at least 4 years of post-graduate experience, preferably in a biotech industry or leading academic institute).
  • Strong technical skills in molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, ddPCR, cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 genome engineering or gene modulation.
  • Practical experience with different mammalian cellular systems including cell culture, transfections, transductions, flow cytometry.
  • Successful candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment and on multiple projects, be well organized, self-motivated and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with gene editing and/or gene modulation technologies in primary cellular models or iPSC is preferred.

Compensation range

$87,000 - 95,000
