As the EHS Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing our Capital Projects Delivery Team for one of our large pharmaceutical clients. You will manage a team of H&S Specialists with compliance oversite for multiple construction projects and contractors. You will be responsible for monitoring or overseeing construction sites and making sure that workers within the environment adhere to government regulations/standards as well as client standards regarding safety. You will also ensure that the work/projects adhere to client timeline requirements and business goals.

The EHS Supervisor develops and implements policies/guidelines that help reduce the risk of workplace accidents. You will be responsible for determining the kind of policies that are needed within the construction site and how to execute them.

The EHS team, on a routine basis, will inspect the worksite to identify hazards and develop policies/procedures to eliminate them from the work environment. The team will be responsible for ensuring that all site personnel understand and implement the procedures. The EHS Supervisor will interact with client, Arcadis and contractor management on a routine basis and should be proficient in both written and oral communications. Responsibilities include reviewing contractor documentation, performing job safety analyses, developing and reporting on incident and near misses as well as developing corrective actions for both. This position also develops key safety metrics that are reported to stakeholders on a routine basis.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervises day-to-day activities of EHS team within a particular construction workplace
Ensures that workers make use of necessary protective equipment like helmets, hand gloves, welding shades etc., where and when necessary
Arranges training programs on safety measures within the workplace
Serves as a link between contractors and top management when it comes to issues that have to do with the safety and proper organization of the workplace
Lead and provide direction and technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the projects and in their professional development
Document and investigate accidents or injuries, provide records or evidence as required, and implement corrective measures meant to reduce future risk
Monitor contractor's field activities to verify the work is being performed in compliance with approved safety plan, client policies and industry best practices
Chair safety meetings; Prepare and distribute meeting minutes for contractor safety meetings
Report all serious conditions or accidents to client's EH&S office and responding departments as required
Review and recommend revisions, as required, to client's construction safety procedures
Support project managers in project risk assessments, site safety plans and job safety analysis reviews
Review contractor safety performance to confirm contractor safety programs meet minimum client requirements for work on site
Provide site orientation to contractors working on site
Monitor compliance with Arcadis Safe Systems of Work, confirm contractor safety plans and initiate supplemental permits

Who you are:

Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CRF 1926 (Construction) safety standards
Proficiency in lecture, hands-on and guided discussion methods in a variety of classroom and field environment

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Health Sciences, Construction Management, or related field
8 years of experience providing safety support
Experience managing a H&S Team
