Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Engineer for employment in the Milwaukee, WI office.
This position is expected to begin in May 2021.

About DCSA-Environment
With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Support execution of projects involving soil and groundwater investigation, and remediation activities in accordance with the State of Wisconsin NR 700 Regulations, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, or other regulatory programs.
- Assist Project Managers in efficient execution of project scope of work on time and within budget.
- Provide field services for site investigation, drilling, UST removal, soil, air, and groundwater sample collection, and related work in a variety of environmental settings and become proficient with field instrumentation and equipment.
- Provide office support for data management and report preparation.
- Analytical data analysis and summaries.
- Evaluation of alternatives.
- Ability to work independently with diverse staff in office and non-office setting (i.e., outdoors, undeveloped/wooded areas, year-round).
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Strong quality and time management.
- Field tasks may require ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Must demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.
- Candidate will be required to enter AECOM medical monitoring program and additional medical compliance as applicable to meet client requirements.
- Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 - 2 hrs drive of home office, and occasionally further.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
- Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
- Ability to work well in a project team and a fast-paced environment.
- Environmental field work experience (groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, etc.)
- Strong research and report writing (including web based research).
- Strong numerical skills.
- Aptitude for conducting and coordinating field activities.
- Strong quality and time management.
- Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.
- Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
- EIT.
