Position Summary

The Senior Pricing Analyst will partner with category managers, merchandising and other key function decisions makers to provide in depth strategic pricing analysis and robust insights/analyses/guidance to drive and deliver executional pricing and promotional excellence resulting in organizational confidence in customer pricing.

This position supports the Bridgestone Retail Operations (BSRO) business units to enable execution of pricing and promotional strategies through high impact financial analysis to drive operational excellence by innovating pricing processes and supporting Sales pricing initiatives. This role will also communicate effectively on multiple levels, using highly technical language with other Analysts and translating technical results clearly and effectively for Director-Level and below executives.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities Specific to Senior Analyst

Maintain the required data and processes to support and update the ongoing pricing efforts and clusters, including but not limited to zone assignments, and price levels

Develop and maintain knowledge of store trade area and markets as required to inform zone pricing assignments, decisions and adjustments as required, including but not limited to providing recommendations on assignments to new stores

Define and report on Key Performance Indicators for the BSRO pricing and promotions, metrics and data analytics to provide repeatable, sustainable, actionable insights and accountability touch points for the business.

In addition, Retail Pricing Analyst Responsibilities:

Leverage internal tools and systems capabilities to build, monitor and report outcomes on high impact analytical tools/dashboards/reporting packages to model best practice solutions

Become key SME and advisor for current software and data solutions for pricing advanced analytics and reporting

Partner with category managers on pricing decisions and recommendations through providing the required analysis, insights and prioritization required to drive data-based decisions that are consistent with the BSRO pricing strategic objectives

Provide Category Managers with relevant and timely insights into pricing implications of activity in the marketplace.

Report on Key Performance Indicators for the BSRO business, metrics and data analytics to provide repeatable, sustainable, actionable insights and accountability touch points for the business.

Establishing clear and measurable targets and goals for upcoming or recommended promotions and completing the required tracking in order to provide and report on promotion outcomes for their categories
Design, conduct and analyze required test-and-learns to support pricing and promotional activities and adjustments, including the required partnership with the analytics team and management of required communications and readouts required to drive data-driven decision making

Develop business reporting packages to guide/influence/drive strategic decisions

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Training & Development

Ability to communicate with all levels of organization

Proven Business mindset with drive for continuous process improvement

Understanding of pricing/cost/margin decisions on company profitability

Strong organizational agility to enhance cross-functional communication and collaboration

Must be a proficient storyteller able to explain complicated statistical analyses, techniques, and results to non-statistical audiences of Director-level Executives and below.

Expertise acquired through prior experience in applying statistical/mathematical techniques Pricing (Elasticity, Clustering, Optimization, Etc.)

Ability to perform complex financial modeling using extensive various technical platforms including Excel, Alteryx, SAS, and/or Tableau

Ability to provide statistically advanced techniques as appropriate for moderate data sets with <= 100 variables (columns)

Other Essential Functions: Execution of special projects as assigned, Oversight and maintenance of the transition to a store-specific pricing model

Reports To: Senior Manager, Pricing and promotions (BSRO)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance/Marketing Business/Economics/Engineering or similar

MBA/M.S. in Statistics/Math preferred

Automotive Aftermarket parts experience a plus

6-10+ years in related job preferred
