AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Engineer/Environmental Scientist/Geologist Intern for employment in the Anchorage, AK office.

About DCSA-Environment
With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM's global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals - to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in preparing engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids.
- Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater and soil sampling, remediation system operations, site inspections).
- Compare investigation findings to relevant studies and provincial/federal regulations to assess compliance, draft reports documenting results and presenting findings.
- Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis. Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have completed two years of study pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related science field
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship experience in related field a plus
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software
- GIS and/or CAD experience
- Ability to travel
