The City of Pflugerville, where quality meets life, is growing and improving every day and we are always on the lookout for outstanding individuals to join our team! Currently, we are in search of a Water Conservation Specialist. See the essential duties and responsibilities below. We will be selecting applicants for this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and manages the City's Water Conservation Program and tracks expenditures of the program. Enforce rules and regulations established by the City Council related to drought contingency planning and water conservation.
  • Prepares and submits annual water conservation reports and drought plan reports to TCEQ, TWDB, and other agencies as required.
  • Establish and maintain an active public information program to promote and educate customers about water conservation.
  • Work with staff to create and implement a marketing strategy to promote awareness of water-related issues such as water conservation.
  • Evaluate educational strategies and technologies for effectiveness, cost/benefits and accomplishment of goals.
  • Communicate and interact with citizens to promote water conservation efforts and assist customers with implementing water conservation measures.
  • Assist in locating and preparing grant applications for related programs.
  • Collaborate with other area water conservation personnel to implement common conservation policies and standards.
  • Prepare and make formal presentation to homeowners associations, civic organization and at public events to inform the public about water restrictions and water saving ideas.
  • Organize and conduct workshops to educate the public and various commercial industries on different ways to conserve and efficiently use water.
  • Assist with budget preparation for program.


Education/Experience/Certification Qualifications
  • Formal Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Environmental Studies, Natural Science, Resource Management, or in a related field.
  • Relatable Work Experience: 3 years' experience in Water Conservation Customer Service.
  • Training (Licenses(s) and/or Certification(s): N/A
