General Function: The EHS Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization. The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator should be well-versed in all OSHA dictations, focused on prevention by being diligent and analytical and possess a keen eye for detail and a sensitivity for potential dangers. The goal is to support the creation of a healthy and safe workplaces throughout the Belvac organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, implement and communicate environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Prepares, schedules and delivers training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Develop and enforce OSHA, EPA and other federal, state and local agency policies
  • Investigates and addresses any workplace-related health issues and accidents.
  • Processes workers compensation documentation including duties as main liaison with Dover compensable insurance carriers. Keeps records of safety-related incidents.
  • Shares safety information with appropriate levels in the organization.
  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate manager in discussing matters of importance.
  • Oversee facility security and emergency response requirements.
  • Coordinate risk management responsibilities including fire suppression systems, addressing facility insurance recommendations, and emergency response.
  • Coordinate waste disposal and recycling activities.
  • Coordinate with Facility Risk Management (FM Global) recommendations.
  • Assist with all Fire safety inspections.
  • Prepare and submit EHS information to our Dover Risk Management Team as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local environmental regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required

One to two years of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Health and safety certification preferred.

HAZWOPER 40hr or ability to obtain within 6 months of starting.

CPR/AED/FA certified, or ability to obtain within 3 months of starting.
