This position can filled in any of the following offices: Richmond (VA), Cayce (SC), Washington D.C. or Raleigh (NC).

This position supports the implementation of Dominion Energy's Environmental Justice Program. Specific job duties include the following:

  • Assists project development teams with environmental justice screening for regulated projects.
  • Writes and edits environmental justice reviews, suitable for submission to regulatory agencies, that evaluate environmental justice considerations of company projects and programs.
  • Works with cross functional teams on environmental justice reporting in regulatory proceedings.
  • Prepares and submits correspondence, reports, and testimonies to environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Represents company before regulatory agencies, industry groups, and the public on environmental justice issues.
  • Assists with tracking, analyzing and interpreting EJ-related policy and regulations at the state and federal levels.
  • Supports executive level communications and external presentations.
  • Uses electronic databases to analyze and monitor company environmental justice policy and project tracking.
  • Advises business groups on company policies and procedures related to environmental justice.


Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

At least 5-7 years directly related experience (Note: A Master's degree will count as one year of experience. A partial year of six months or more experience will be rounded up to one year)

Required: Public affairs/Environmental policy background

Preferred Knowledge, skills, abilities and experience:

  • Knowledge of environmental justice;
  • GIS background;
  • Database management;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong written and verbal skills.


Other knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:

  • Logic and reasoning skills, to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, conclusions, or approaches;
  • Respectful assertiveness, to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met by others, while considering the spirit and letter of the law;

  • Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience are encouraged to apply.
