BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing a Title V air permit in a manufacturing facility
  • RCRA,TRI, stormwater permit compliance, wastewater permit compliance experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to travel 25%-35% of the time to regional sites.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Dedicated and committed EHS leadership and presence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS degree in engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field with significant experience in environmental programs.
  • PE in environmental engineering or related field, Registered Environmental Manager/Registered Environmental Professional certification

ABOUT THE JOB

The EHS Manager will work with Sr. Director, EHS and site Operations teams to determine options for the overall strategic use of the Company's air, stormwater, and wastewater permits to ensure compliance, maximize production flexibility, and extend capacity where practical. The position will also have other general EHS project management duties as assigned. There is an estimated 60% environmental focus, 40% safety focus for this role, and the successful candidate will be an expert in environmental compliance.

YOUR ROLE:
  • Work with individual facilities to modify their air permits as needed to support local needs at multiple facilities in the United States
  • Work with site Operations teams to ensure planned changes in materials and methods can be accommodated and assess expected impacts
  • Maintain library of all current air permits. Coordinate timely renewal applications
  • Provide technical support and guidance to facility management
  • Champion regulatory compliance and direct implementation of best practices
  • Ensure proper management and disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Prepare and submit all required federal, state and local environmental permits and reports
  • Prepare and maintain environmental policies for the manufacturing facility
  • Ensure that discharges and releases into the air, water and landfills meet all regulations, codes and permit requirements
  • Serve as primary contact and liaison for environment agencies
  • Oversee environmental projects and maintain environmental file for inspections and audits
  • Review and approve new chemicals entering facilities
  • Maintain electronic environmental sustainability data in FBHS' environmental health and safety database
  • Develop relevant environmental training and ensure facility required environmental training is conducted via train-the-trainer sessions
  • Lead the implementation of the company's strategic environmental plans
  • Participate in and/or lead compliance audits of sites
  • Prepare emissions estimates and projections
  • Monitor facility waste streams and their associated cost - implement corrective action as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends, safety legislation and ensures compliance
  • Monitor performance metrics for each business unit and implement corrective action if required
