DSM Biomedical is looking for aSafety Health & Environment (SHE) Engineerto support development of site SHE programs and long-term plans in compliance with corporate requirements and relevant regulations for a specific DSM Biomedical site in Exton. This individual will be a key influencer at site to drive DSM's global mission of safety policies always puts our employees first.

You will be responsible to:
- Develop, organize, and conduct SHE-related training programs, including, work permit, incident investigation, root cause, LOTO, etc.
- Conduct risk assessments as required on various process equipment and tasks to quantify risk and recommend risk reduction measures to intended audience (i.e. production, maintenance, etc.).
- Support environmental compliance by managing waste disposal process, air emissions inventory, and DSM Triple P reporting.
- Assist in maintaining Management of Change process, including review of changes for SHE implications.
- Develop and support occupational health processes including performing Health Risk Assessments, IH planning and monitoring and development of related programs such as Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection and Ergonomics.
- Support site in the preparation and execution of SHE Plan.
- Supports Emergency Response Plan with participation and assistance with training activities. Develops and conducts drills and resolves identified gaps.
- Ability to either take the lead or participate in incident investigations and the judgment to make the correct decision based on each situation. Lead participants through site Root Cause Analysis methodology to arrive at sound causes and solutions to incidents. Works to maintain DBM Incident Reporting system for Exton sites.
- Manage site safety metric reporting to satisfy internal requirements and regulatory compliance. Interface with corporate DBM SHE to satisfy internal reporting requirements.
- Assist in determining departmental and personal SHE goals to further site viability and ensure safe work environment.
- Ensure all SHE related training is current and up to date.
- Actively participates and leads site safety committee, first aid team and emergency response team meetings. Plans and organizes team training, emergency response planning scenarios, evacuation drills, etc. Maintains inventory of spill response materials.

What we look for in you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Science or Engineering.
- 3 years or more in various SHE-related or Engineering functions with previous Safety experience.
- 2 years or more in manufacturing-related environments.
- High level of conceptual and analytical thinking and ability.
- Good knowledge of universally accepted SHE practices.
- Cursory knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, European Union (EU) regulations, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations is desired.
- Knowledge of US OSHA regulations as they relate to general industry.
