Job Description
This individual is responsible for supporting management in the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety programs for Conduent, globally. Provide professional and technical assistance to site operations and ensures procedures, practices and policies are compliant and consistent with established Corporate, local, state, and federal regulations. Implement, monitor, and maintain safety and health programs and facilitate corrective measures as necessary. Provide guidance and assist in maintaining OSHA injury/illness reporting (including, but not limited to OSHA 300 logs). This is a security-sensitive position. The individual in this position will be required to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA regulations.
Person can sit in Florham Park, NJ, Richardson, TX or be Remote.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee safety efforts in striving for a zero accident/injury free workplace.
- Schedule, develop, facilitate and/or present Site Safety training.
- Respond to emergency incidents and facilitate or participate in injury and near miss investigations. Recommend corrective actions.
- Handle hazardous and bio-hazardous waste activities and sign waste manifests
- Oversee and organize Site Safety meetings and other teams, as needed.

- Global Surveys
- Documentation as required, such as significant change sign off, new equipment approval, risk assessments, new product information and others as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's in safety or related field. Combinations of education and experience considered. Preferred area of study and or experience: Safety, environment, or industrial hygiene
- Advanced experience in environment, health, and safety, preferred.
- ASP, CSP or other certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, listening and communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong ability in problem solving and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to act decisively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team structure. Holds self and others accountable for achieving collective goals.
- Demonstrated skill at successful interactions with regulatory agency staff and customers desirable.
- Presents programs, trainings, and briefings to leaders on support and implementation of safety programs and/or Emergency Action Plans.
- Assists in maintaining comprehensive guides, checklists, presentations, procedures, and policies related to environmental health, safety, and risk management.
- Through monitoring, ensures related equipment is maintained, tested, and inspected and that any mandated inspections are scheduled and accomplished on time.
- Maintains current knowledge of laws and requirements. Ensures company compliance with applicable environmental health and safety regulations.
- Performs and assists in the investigation of injury incidents that occur to Conduent employees, provides training and guidance to help improve workplace safety.
- Provides notifications to leadership on changes in health and safety regulations. Modifies related trainings as needed.
- Approves safety-related equipment for Conduent use.
- Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) programs is preferred but not all required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) software
Travel:
- The position may involve limited travel as needed. Extended periods of travel are not required to fulfill job duties.
